I had the following conversation with Hubby concerning my car...
Me: "I am okay with driving my car to the ground before we buy a new one."
Hubby: "Okay, but what does it mean by driving it 'to the ground'?"
Me: "When you leave point A, you are not certain if you will arrive at point B."
You think it's funny, my last two cars are both like that. In fact, more likely than not I would NOT get to point B. That, my dear, is the sign that it's time for a new car.
Never before have so many people with so little to say said so much to so few. - Despair.com

The Moon, The Bunny, and The Whitie Hubby
Many Asian folklores involve bunnies on the moon. The Chinese one goes something like this, a bunny who lives on the moon makes these medicines with a pestle and mortar (yes, on the moon, don't ask, I didn't make this shit up). Woman stole the medicines, ate them, flew to the moon and could only return once a year to see her husband (I'm sure eventually my real Chinese friends will come around to correcting the details of this story). Point is, there's a bunny on the moon, and I have spent months, possibly years, trying to convince Hubby of that.
Take a look at this picture:

You can totally make out the ears in the upper right quandrant, right? Which makes the circular shape attached naturally the head, and the rest will have to be the body, right? Wrong! I even drew it out on a piece of paper once and still only got the blank look from Hubby.
Out of the blue today Hubby emailed me during work and happily announced that, "I can finally see the bunny!" (Don't ask me what he does at work. I have noooo idea and I am not asking any questions so long as the paychecks keep coming.) Then he sent me this link. Evidently in order to convince a Whitie that there is, indeed, a bunny on the moon, you literally have to draw it out, like so:-

The Meaning of Life
So after visiting all these forums, I thought perhaps I should try to engage in a philosophical conversation with my own husband instead of strangers on the internet, so I started with something simple:
"Honey, what do you think is the meaning of life?"
"Um... I'm easy to please... I just want to be entertained."
Lucky for me, having a very responsible husband who, in additional to being the primary breadwinner, also cooks and cleans, entertainment is about the only thing that I bring to the table. =D

Hunting for the secrets of a happy marriage - CNN.com
Okay, I don't get this. I've saw this article about how your photo from high school graduation might be an indicator for the success of your marriage for, like, FIVE times. Ugh. A bit overkill isn't it? Swine flu asides, aren't there more breaking news than high school photos as marriage successfulness indicator? Where DO all these people get their grants from??
That said, one of the hypothesis about why people with bigger smile on their year book tend to have a more successful marriage was "perhaps they might be more obedient" -- as in they followed the instruction when they were told to smile. That's it! The secret to my successful marriage is my obedient husband!

Mi Estupido Espouso...
are three of the very limited words that I know in Spanish.
After all the heavy postings in the past few days, I think I'd go with something lighter for a change.
Evidently, my husband needs more work at work -- he was so bored at work the other day that he decided to call up a loan agent to see how much we can qualify for, should we decide to buy a house in the bay area. Whatever makes him think that the loan agent can possibly tell him something that I couldn't was beyond me. I suppose it wasn't his fault, it was just that extra Y chromosome talking. [Yes, if I had failed to mention this before, I'm a sexist; I totally believe that female is the more superior of the two genders.]
Dude quote us the same amount quoted to us before! Before the housing melt down, that is! [Please see my earlier entry "My Husband, in a Nutshell" for the full story.]
Why does he do these things like this when I wasn't around? I have a billion smart retorts that I so wanted to dish out at this guy. A couple came to my mind right away:-
"You did hear that the CEO of Freddie Mae hung himself today, right? Or have you been following the news about what is going on in the outside world?"
or
"And how much is the monthly payment going to be for this amount?"
"$x."
"And if $x is the same our entire monthly income, how do you propose for us to pay for food, gas, electricity, or my feminine hygiene needs?"
"......."
Oh, believe me, I'll say just that. Okay, perhaps without the "feminine hygiene" part.

Hubby and Tonkatsu*
Hubby likes tonkatsu. My friend A has tonkatsu recipe. Great, right? I got recipe from her, passed it onto Hubby. Hubby was making it one time (note: he had made it very successfully a few times before) and asked me, "How long do I fry these for?" Silly me, forgetting for a moment that he's a MAN, replied, "'til it's golden brown!" Five minutes later, the pork chop came out a few shades darker than "golden brown." Hubby said, "well, there are levels of browness!" "Yes, honey, and golden brown is the level." What was I thinking? Should have just said three mintues! A term that men can understand!
THEN, he poured himself some sauce and started eating without me. Grumbling about him not getting me tonkatsu sauce, I went to get it myself. I opened up the fridge and could not see the tonkatsu sauce in plain sight. You'd think that since Hubby just used it, it'll be the first thing I see. The only thing that remotely resembles tonkatu sauce is honey glazed teriyaki sauce!
"Ummmm, sweetie, are you using teriyaki sauce with your pork chop?"
"OOOOOOHHHHHHHHH, is that what it is? I was just thinking why they don't taste like they do before!" =.=
And the whole time he thought the different taste was because of the OIL!
